Robo Bricks

Build. Code. Experiment.

Robo Bricks introduces primary school students to the world of robotics in a hands-on, playful, and structured way. Using LEGO® motors, sensors, and the WeDo 2.0 app, children build real-world robot models—and bring them to life through code.

This program gives students an end-to-end robotics experience that blends creativity, logic, and collaboration.

Children will:

  • Build and code LEGO® robots that mimic real-world machines
  • Learn to program with visual coding tools and basic algorithms
  • Use sensors like tilt and motion to create interactive models
  • Develop critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
  • Gain foundational knowledge of software engineering concepts

Our Learning Framework

All sessions follows the Learn-Prototype-Code-Experiment-Imagine format.

Learn

We introduce the engineering and programming concepts behind each session.

Prototype

Students build a robot that performs a specific real-world task.

Code

Children use visual programming to make their robot move, react, and respond.

Experiment & Imagine

They modify inputs and code, exploring how changes affect behaviour. Children test, play, and push their models further—making science and robotics feel exciting and achievable.

Robo Bricks Secondary Objectives

Program Outcomes

Robo Bricks is designed to develop:

  • Algorithmic thinking and procedural logic
  • Understanding of flow charts and pseudo-code
  • Effective teamwork and communication
  • Confidence with digital tools and software interfaces
  • Information systems and media literacy

My boys can tell when someone has real passion for what they are doing and sharing. The boys response was Mr Wong and Jack really like kids. Loved it.

Fantastic experience for young minds. Nate had an absolute blast and cannot wait to do it again next year. He is still talking about it nearly 2 weeks later. Thank you.

My 2 kids had a blast. 3 Lego builds in a day, they couldn’t get enough. My 10 year old enjoyed ‘modifying’ the build outside of the scripted instructions. Great way to encourage innovation. Keep that bit up!!

Our children had a great time and were able to explain the tasks and their projects to us very confidently when we arrived to pick them up. While we obviously didn’t see the whole day and progression of instruction by staff, it appeared there were elements of problem- based learning as well as foundational instruction and we liked this very much. We also liked the small, intimate nature of the group.
